Wellbeing at Work

I personally value healthy lifestyle. I recognise how exercise affects on your brain and makes your thinking more sharp bringing clear advantage for when working as a problem solver and creative. Inspired by all the mentioned I have been co-organising a recreational club for Finago’s employees.

Recreational Club - Finago Health Club

I have been organising a recreational club with my colleague Jenna Leinonen. At Finago we have an opportunity to start any kind of a recreational club and apply for funding for it. We got an idea to start organising health related sessions for employees. We were lucky to get the full budget so we were ready to ideate all kinds of fantastic sessions.

We have been working on this influenced by Design Thinking methods. Once we had the concept ready we gathered feedback from the employees to confirm that this kind of activity is needed. We did the concept by feedback from the employees and we have improved our club by doing surveys and polls.

Sessions

We ideated, scheduled and booked sessions i.e. stretching, healthy food, lessions, possibility to try new activities (e.g. barre, air yoga, bouldering etc). Unfortunately we had a change to have only one Morning Stretching session before Covid-19 happened.

Remote Workday Break

Due to Covid-19 and all the office work transferring into remote work we ideated with Finago’s HR that we could start to have sessions for stretching and breathing during the workday. First we had one 45 minute session per week but after the summer we made a survey and found out that it’s better to have two session per week à 30 minutes. Sanna Yrjänheikki has been instructing online for us during the whole remote work period. We even had couple of After Work sessions: once yoga and once pilates.

After Work Yoga

In the Autumn we noticed that we still have budget to spent for 2020 and decided to organise an After Work Yoga session. We chose yoga based on a poll. Anniina from Roots Helsinki has been instructing Yin influenced Yoga.

FEEDBACK & Ideas

Accountor Finago’s HR and Management have been content of our great input for promoting healthy lifestyle and arranging these sessions during these difficult Covid times. We have done close co-operation with our HR Managers to plan future sessions. Since we are probably working remotely until the summer 2021 we’ll continue with several online remote sessions.
